Herbal Influences: Mood Elevating Bath Soak

 Mood Elevating Bath Soak

There is nothing like a good warm bath after a long tiring day either at work, school, or running errands out in the streets!

Let's elevate your bath and your mood! A bath can be made for more than just cleaning the body and soothing aches and pains, this bath soak is for cleaning the mind, resetting your thoughts, and uplifting your spirits.

Let's Get Soaking!

These are the ingredients you would use for your Mood Elevating Bath Soak:

Essential Oils (You would need 4-5 drops each)

Bois de rose

Grapefruit

Petitgrain

Ylang ylang

Carrier Oil of your Choosing (1-2 teaspoons)

Mix your essential oil with carrier oil first before putting them into the water.

A clean Bathtub of water, not too hot but temp to your liking.

A towel or Bath Mat to sit on. (Things could get slippery!)

TIP: So that the essential oil droplets do not separate and gravitate to your skin, leaving you open to irritation and even a burning sensation, mix your essential oils with a carrier oil first before putting them into the water.

Add oils as you are running your water.

Soak and Enjoy!

                                                                                                       Ylang Ylang Flower
Petitgrain substitute:

Chamomile

Bois de rose substitute:

Clary Sage

Frankincense

Carrier Oils

Carrier oils help to dilute the essential oils and carry them into the skin. You can use a carrier oil of your choosing such as coconut oil, shea nut oil, grapeseed oil, rosehip seed oil, or olive oil. I like to use the shea nut oil because it is super moisturizing and really has your skin looking healthy and rejuvenated once you are out of the tub and have pat yourself dry.

Be careful when using oils in your tub because it is a slip hazard but you can always help that by using a bath mat or towel in your tub.

Mix your essential oil with carrier oil first before putting them into the water. As you are running your bath, you slowly want to add your essential oils.

For added esthetics in your bathtub for your bath soak, add candles and/or rose petals (any pretty flower petals will do.)

Relax and enjoy!
