Remembering Dr. Martin Luther King and NEVER giving up hope that as a society at some point, we all will TRULY be FREE and treated as EQUAL!

Martin Luther King, Jr was born on January 15, 1929. A Baptist minister, inspirational leader, and excellent orator, King lead the way as a Civil Rights Activist who led a non-violent social movement for the equality of black people during a time when the opposing masses were not hearing it!

We were mistreated, beaten, ignored, and separated. Many people died fighting this fight for equality, even Dr. King. Today we need to reflect on and remember their struggles and the fight we endured for our rights and equal opportunities.

Over the years the message has increasingly gotten lost and it shows through the high amounts of crime, violence, and generational setbacks going on in our black communities.

Do your own research and teach your kids. Answer the "whys" and the "hows", don't avoid questions. Go to the museums or the library, check out books, and educate your kids. School systems are trained to omit key factors and important events from black history which is a disservice to our children. We shouldn't wait for schools to teach our children OUR history. History lessons start at home!
