Homemade Fabric Refresher Recipe
Fabric Refresher: A Must-Have for Your Workspace or Home! 😍 If you have teens, pets, or a busy workspace like mine, you know how much you rely on fabric refreshers to keep things smelling fresh. While store-bought options like Febreze are easy to find, they can be too overpowering, not fragrant enough, or even full of harsh chemicals. Plus, some can be a little too perfumey or just don’t last long enough. Not to mention, they can sometimes trigger allergies or irritate your pets and sinuses. Here's a better, all-natural alternative!
Want to breathe easy and save a little money in the process? We can minimize the amount of money we spend and the amount of plastic waste our households are producing by eliminating the store-bought refresher. Making your own fabric refresher is super quick and easy!
The Breakdown
Spray Bottle- Plastic spray bottles are o.k., but glass bottles are environmentally better. With plastic bottles, you really have to clean them out or previous residues could remain in the bottle if you decide to use your bottle for something else. Some oils, esp. essential oils can get embedded in plastic bottles and it's hard to get the scents out even with warm to hot water.
10-20 drops of lavender oil. This is optional but I use lavender in all my fabric refresher sprays because of its many benefits including being antibacterial, and antimicrobial. Lavender has been known to kill certain types of germs and bacteria. Lavender also smells great and has calming, relaxing, and soothing aromatherapeutic properties.
Orange essential oil with tea tree oil is also a great aromatherapeutic combination to lighten your mood and boost energy. Tea tree oil is antibacterial and antimicrobial as well.
1 tbsp baking soda. Baking soda is odor neutralizing
Fill the rest of your bottle with distilled water and slowly invert to mix.
Remember: Set your spray bottle to mist!
