Cleaning Up My Patio Part 2

 We Did It!

Job well done and now the kids and I have another place to hang out and enjoy the rest of the summer months! Sorry for the delayed post but it only took a couple days!
Before :(The patio before was pretty pitiful. Just all overgrown and ugly! Since the pandemic, the kids and I are home, ALOT, and we hang outside more and more but needed somewhere else nice and shady to relax. Its been almost two years since I cleaned off my patio because I'm usually at the office 9-5.  But now being able to work from home temporarily, allows me some time to spruce up some things at home.  Now I can check Project Patio is complete!
In Part I of Cleaning Up My Patio, we had a lot of cleaning up to start on the patio so we started with weed pulling and bush trimming. There were all kinds of spiders and lizards making my patio their home so they had to go. My son was a big help!

After doing the sweeping and blowing, we hosed off the patio with water and my special concoction of Palmolive mixed with lemongrass, cedarwood, peppermint, and eucalyptus oils. This combination cleans that extra dirt off the concrete annnnnnd bugs absolutely hate the smell, but to me its smells wonderful! My concoction is not a one time trick. It's good to spray your space down every time you use it. It doesn't get rid of or kill bugs but does minimize their presence.

Bye, Bye, Mud and Bugs!

Sprayed off my planters and went to Lowe's for some dirt and mulch!

Purchased my wooden table from a yard sale for $20. It's a very heavy and sturdy handcrafted table. Went to the Dollar Tree for my table covering and fake flowers. I have several fake flowers throughout the yard because I just love colors and they are very low/no maintenance, LOL. And 5 Below had the nice rug. Will the rug hold up to the elements? We will soon find out. Brought in a couple of real plant babies to accompany the mini hostas there. Hostas are also low maintenance but I usually see bigger. I believe since this spot is so shaded most of the day it stunts this hostas growth. The hostas is annual and comes back every year as long as I keep the area weeded. The aloe vera in the small pot will be planted soon (my first attempt at growing aloe vera outdoors in Tennessee)  and the lavender was from my potted garden on my front porch. The room divider is just something I threw up for a little privacy. Still working on that part. I would love a curtain or a longer sturdier divider.

Got the fire pit restarted and we were ready to go! The kids and I built the fire pit from old concrete blocks that surround a flower bed in my back yard. The firepit is 100% legit! Its keep the fire burning for a long time. So grateful for my space.
