As I have been getting older, I've noticed the changes my skin has been making, especially in my face. You see people advertising beauty products and face wash, saying what it has done for their skin and what not, but has it really done something for their skin or were they just born with naturally good skin genes? You can tell, just check out some of their pictures from the past, LOL.
Anyway, we have to be realistic in saying that everybody does not have "good skin" genes. "Good skin" genes meaning, they never get pimples, blemishes, blackheads, never! Not even when they were going through puberty. My BFF is this way, perfect skin, no matter what. No matter how much sugar she intakes, no matter how much she sweats, no matter if she didn't wash the makeup from her face the previous night, just naturally good skin. It's a blessing. But to some, men and women, all skin types and colors, we have skin issues that won't be remedied if we are not properly caring for our skin.
For me, my skin issues are mostly hormonal. After I had kids, I found myself getting more hair in my face. I admit I have a mini beard. I have to wax a couple times a month. I get blemishes. I was getting pimples, blackheads, and hair bumps. Just being careless and not grasping skin care and letting it get out of control. I've been researching different ingredients for my skin type, my particular problem.

Over the years for me, I've found:
(1.) Waxing prevents the hair bumps, ingrown hairs, and blemishes.
Turmeric Sugar Scrub
Exfoliating Day!

(2.) Lemons relieve inflammation and lighten my skin.

(3.) My face is too sensitive for shea and cocoa butter.
Macadamia nut oil is what I pretty much use on my face during the cold months currently to keep my face moisturized without clogging my pores. (It is a 2-3 on the comedogenic scale. The highest rating on the comedogenic scale is 5, meaning it's most likely to clog pores.) In the warmer months, I use Walnut oil in my face sugar scrubs because it is a 1-2 rating on the comedogenic scale. I have naturally oily skin causing me to be extra oily in the warm months, but I still need to moisturize. You moisturize in the warm months because the sun dehydrates your skin.
(Walnut oil is full of antioxidants and Omega 3, 6, and 9, it's moisturizing and great for fighting wrinkles.)

Annnnnnd (4.) Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate!
I must say exfoliating has done wonders for my skin. ❤ MEN and WOMEN should exfoliate our faces at least 3 times a week. Why exfoliate? Exfoliating the skin removes dry and dead skin cells. It also helps to prevent pimples and prevent clogged pores, which houses dirt and bacteria.
So now I've decided to give Turmeric powder a try. I've been hearing about it, researched it, heard a couple beauty experts speak on it, and believe me Turmeric has not disappointed me! I hate I waited so long to implement it into my beauty regime.

What is Turmeric? Turmeric or The Golden Spice, has been around for centuries. Not only is its use for food spice purposes, but it is also often used in India and Chinese medicinal culture. I love the benefit of Turmeric because works on the skin within the pores, treating acne. It is anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, antiseptic, and has plenty of antioxidants. It also has anti-aging properties and gives your skin a natural glow.

Just Having A Little Fun!
Fresh Happy Face!

Ever since I have added Turmeric to my beauty regime, I have been pleased with the results. Everybody's skin is different. You have to find out what works best for you.

What's working for me: sugar waxing with lemon, and tea tree oil. With this, I've noticed a reduction of hair bumps and ingrown hairs, less inflammation and scaring.
To reduce outbreaks, boils, hair bumps, and to lighten and smooth blemishes, an exfoliating face scrub with sugar, lemons, Walnut or macadamia, and now turmeric, does the trick. A fresh face is a happy face!
